2 April 2008, 4:40 PM. By Daniel Mauser
Hi friends and trolls. We’ll be liveblogging (which is kind of like regular blogging, only we’re paying attention) pregnant transman Thomas Beatie’s appearance on Oprah tomorrow from 4 to 5 p.m. EST.
We do hope you’ll join us. Who knows? Maybe Thomas will end up getting! A! CAR!

Will the birth be live?
@ G: Who knows! I don’t believe babies even exist until they’re pictured on Facebook anyway.
I’ve never seen a baby on Facebook, but I hear they sell them by the dozen on Myspace…and Gawker.
Aloha Thomas! You da’kine brah! Mahalo nui loa, mo’bettah way gender reassignment in da ohana and keep da fertility to make keiki! Shaka wahine you got in Oregon brah–take big courage fo shua make dat kapu. Get you haad rub too–you no listen dat haole stink talk.
To all the rest of you, every decent human being needs to take ten steps back and recognize that this family is exercising freedoms which state-sponsored religions like Islamic Sharia law would not only deny them, but for which they would execute them!
What would Jesus do? This family certainly does nothing so hateful to God as the pharisees and so many churchified folks in a rush to judge people. We all will be judged by the same measure with which we judge others–so unless you have something loving to say, worry about your own problems (Matt 7:1-3).
I’ve known a lot of folks to get the reassignment procedure–it’s very unpleasant and the cost in terms of lost children is so great. But it is truly needed when someone feels utterly trapped and that they were born in a wrong sexed body. What a miracle that he kept his female fertility and married a woman who had lost her own.
I think all their supportive friends and family should pitch in so they can go to Sweden (or someplace safe) for the last trimester and birth. There are just too many reactionary crazies in America.
Shaka Brah, aloha nui loa!
