Alizée is a French singer, born in Corsica, who enjoys singing words with her mouth while dressed like a dominatrix on the high seas. Alizée was discovered after winning a talent show called “Graines de Star,” which roughly translates to “The Puppy Cockles Show.” Have a little listen as she sings something about a “poisson rouge.”

In 2000 during MTV Awards as part of the the “Oops I did it again” world tour, Britney Spears ripped off a black suit to reveal a provocative nude-colored and crystal-adorned outfit that generated much controversy. That would make Britney 19 at the time. You could call 2000 a year of teen- girl sexual liberation.
