Sad Face: No Prom For David Archuleta This Weekend

Ever since we heard about the possibility of our little riblet David Archuleta not getting to attend his junior prom due to the rigorous American Idol rehearsal schedule, we’ve been lighting our Jesus-scented candles to La Virgen, praying that he will be allowed to experience the most important event of every teen’s life. Well, La Virgen heard us, pulled out her big dance stick and said, “You got big dreams. You want fame. Well fame costs. And right here is where you start paying…in sweat.”
“Idol’s” strict rules about not letting the contestants out of their sight on the weekends applies to everyone. So David’s prom — which takes place this weekend in Murray, Utah — is a definite no-no.
Debbie Allen couldn’t have been crueler.

Pobre…if he doesn’t win then it will really suck. He’s missing a monumental day!!! A record deal or prom night (maybe losing your virginity)…thats a difficult one… poor guy.

Proms are overrated…Archuleta will be just fine.
Major coolness would be if the American Idol folks flew his prom into L. A., decorations, classmates and all!
David—down a 12 pack of cheap beer and puke in the toilet in your hotel room and you will have experienced my prom.
I love that you guys have been calling him “our little riblet” because it makes me laugh every time! :) And it inevitably makes me wonder what, exactly, is in a McRib.
