Selena Gomez Is The New Miley Cyrus Until Annie Leibowitz Gets Her Posing Naked In A Bathtub Full Of Petals

Now that Miley Cyrus has proven to be a little strumpet in “a duchess satin stole, Champagne, specially made”, Disney execs are moving in on their next starlet harlot, Selena Gomez:

Executives at the company that produces the “Hannah Montana” television show are eyeing lesser-known Selena Gomez to step into the wholesomeness gap created by Cyrus’ photographic escapades with Annie Leibovitz, E! Online re ported yesterday.

Like Cyrus, Gomez is 15, has dark hair and innocent good looks.

For now.

“I’m told Disney executives are so worried about Cyrus’ recent controversies that, more than ever, they want to make Gomez an even bigger star,” wrote E! columnist Mark Malkin.

Gomez now stars in her own Disney Channel show, “Wizards of Waverly Place.” Coincidentally, she has also appeared on Cyrus’ blockbuster, “Hannah Montana,” as a rival pop star.

“Selena sings and acts and is really young,” a source told Malkin. “She is going to be the next Miley Cyrus. [Disney executives] really want this.”

Just wait until she’s got a few seasons and a hit record under her belt. She’ll be shooting out ping pong balls for Terry Richardson on camera.

They need to keep her out of those rose petals; Mena Suvari already did that. Unless her management doesn’t mind her being called both slutty and unoriginal one of these days.

I’m not mad at Annie’s impulse. I think she’s trying to stay relevant, with all this “edgy” lately. But her methods are a hot hot mess.

I hope that Disney does not make the mistake of going with Selena Gomez. Miley Cyrus is the star with whom millions of young girls have connected and relate to. Annie may be trying to “stay relevant”, what is irrelevant is the controversy this has stirred up. I think that it is a shame that, with one photo shoot, this may be disrupting Miley’s career. After all that Miley Cyrus has done for Disney, I can’t believe that they would possibly consider anyone else in the role. Miley Cyrus has my complete support.
