Teens Who Beat Victoria Lindsay Will Be Tried As Adults, May Face Life In Prison

The teens involved in the kidnapping and beating of sixteen-year-old Victoria Lindsay will be tried as adults and might be looking forward to a lifetime without YouTube and MySpace:
The suspects, who range in age from 14 to 18, all face charges of kidnapping, which is a first-degree felony, and battery, said Chip Thullbery, a spokesman for the Polk County state attorney. Three of them are also charged with tampering with a witness.
Everyone involved in the case was under a gag order imposed by a judge. The only attorney for the teens who has been publicly identified did not return calls from CNN, and his assistant cited the gag order as the reason. The teens are scheduled for their first appearance in court Friday.
Guess they’ll be missing cheerleading practice after all.

Just an observation. But these girls must be poor because if they were not they would not be facing any jail time.
Yeah, they’re poor alright, they have POOR decision making skills. They should also throw the parents in jail, too.
I hate the “Where were the parents?” argument. You can’t know what your demonic offspring are up to at all times.
Also, yeah, they must be poor, cuz rich girls don’t kidnap and beat up. They just emotionally abuse you till you develop a drug habit or eating disorder, or kill yourself. In other words, yeah, much better.
“Where are the parents?” is a perfectly good arguement. It isn’t just about knowing what your kids are up to, but how you raised them in the first place. Did they teach their kids that the way to settle a dispute is by discussion, with a mediator if necessary, and not by trapping someone in a house and beating the crap out of them? A few years ago a 13 year old girl ended up in a coma because the ADULTS at a birthday party encouraged her beatdown by other children over some dumb boy-girl stuff. The mother of the main perpetrator was heard telling her daughter to “handle her business” and not to let someone “take her man”. What kinda cracked out stuff is that? And I am saying “WHERE ARE THE PARENTS, BOTH PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY???”

Maybe if you give a damn about your kids, who they hang out with and all dat jazz, maybe they wouldn’t be facing life in prison. I hope they get life in prison and are made an example of so other asshole kids get the picture. Fuck that juvie hall crap, teach those sociopaths a lesson.
I came from a poor family, with a single mom and with a macho sometime stepfather who raised me and my sister in the 1980’s in Queens, in some horrible neighborhoods and crazy school districts. Let me clue you in how fucked up things were in my hood. One day I turned on the tv and my town is on 20/20 as a drug/money laundering haven. I also point you to the early songs of 50 Cent and his crappy movie Get Rich Quick. That was my hood: Laurelton, Rosedale, Cambria Heights, Baisley BLVD, Supreme Team.
My mom worked a nine to 9-5 and knew what me and my sister were up to and who our friends were. She, like my friends parents, were vigilant about our education and upbringing and was ON IT. So if my mom, a woman who made 17 grand a year working as file clerk in hospital, can keep her kids out of a casket and out of jail, other parents can do it too…On a lot of levels this case may have nothing to do with economics. Moreover its about what you teach your seed. Its called giving a damn.
they need to be locked up for life the parents need to be right along with them. who would do something like that they were all jelaous of vicotria and as for all the boys and girls they need to be in jail and have the living shit beat out of them by some of them older people who have experience in killing people.

These kids are all over the news! None of them will be able to get into any college with this record and they all deserve to get arrested. If they get away with this, they might do it again! who knows! Kids these days are crazy, they will do anything to get a little fame. They got there fame and I hope it gets worse for them. What is really pissing me off is that people are saying that these are just teens fighting! These 8 teens invited Victoria Lindsay over to beat her up for a youtube video! They didn’t invite her over and then she said something and then started to fight. They literally planned it! I think it’s fucking ridiculous! I am so mad beyond words! This generation of teens is just terrible. When will they learn!? I don’t think they know when to stop. I don’t think they know what is right and what is wrong. It’s just terrible! Parents need to do a better job of raising there children! I don’t know what else to say, I am just appauled!

But if anyone has seen the recent, “Never Back Down” the entire thing is kind of the same, they recorded them beating the shit out of someone to get popular by posting it on the internet.
These kids deserve to be sent to jail with no chance at parol. Hopefully each and every one of them gets beat up in return.

I’m sure some had a bigger part in things than others did. I’ve been following this case for the past week or so, and I honestly can’t believe how stupid most of the commentary, both in the media and by private individuals commenting as uninvolved bystanders, has sounded. I live in Scotland, where we have diffierent laws, and, I suppose, in a lot of ways different values about the legal treatment of alleged juveniule offenders than in the US. Here, there’s a reason that adults get tried as adults - they are, you see, adults. Their adult-or-not status is not dictated by the seriousness of the crime; if you believe in making a distinction on the appropriate type of court by the type of crime, then fine, do that, but to treat kids as adults, not only in the prospective penalties they face, but in their conditions of post- and pre- trial confinement, in the way they are protected from media scrutiny, to willfully subject *any* child to conditions where they are eight times more likely to face physical and sexual assault (as is the case for juvenile inmates held within adult prisons) makes you as a society no better than these ‘criminals’ themselves; your actions have precisely same profound effect on the people you subject the ill-treatment you dish out upon, only your victims, and your internal justification for your actions, are different.
Actually, this sort of behaviro is jsut a sign that we should care aboutn what happens to them in prison, preferably an adult prison where they can lean the exquisite joys of being on the receiving end of violence,

you cannot blame the parents. im sure a poor upbringing is to blame, but there have been MANY cases of children who have normal, happy lives, who commit such villanious acts. I’m sure the parents weren’t like “oh hey, lets leave the house os my daughter can beat someone” in the end the only people to blame are the people involved in the beating, enough of the blame parents or the media bullshit, it only covers up the hard truth- these kids are fucked up. im a child myself, and if i ever did this, i would only have myself to blame, the parents are not at fault- they have every right to stand behind their children- yes they have every right to try and prevent it, but when it comes down to it, they cant be watching their every action.
