Lalaine Vergara Paras, or “Lalaine” as she was credited during her time on “Lizzie McGuire” (like Madonna, kind of, except no one knows who she is) has apparently been pretty busy since the show ended. Did you know she’d been busted for meth? And failed to show up for her court hearing? And that news of all this didn’t make it to the press until recently? Sad face, all around:

Lalaine Vergara Paras was busted for felony possession of crystal meth last year. Paras played Hilary Duff’s friend Miranda Sanchez on Lizzie McGuire.

Paras got a lot of breaks. First she didn’t show up for court last July of 2007, so a $50,000 bench warrant was issued, the the warrant was recalled after she showed up finally in February 2008. Even luckier is the fact her record will be expunged once she completes the Asian American Drug Abuse Program she enrolled in.

“Asian American” because her parents are Filipino, in case you were wondering. Hopefully Lalaine will get her act together and move on to bigger and better things like prescription painkillers and coke because, as her MySpace shows, she’s geared up to launch a career in muzak.
