Bobby Moresco, the man behind the preachy, pedantic Oscar-winning shitfest that was Crash, is set to write and possibly direct a film on Fidel Castro’s daughter, Alina Fernandez:
Fernandez, a product of an affair Castro had while married to his first wife, spent her childhood in the shadows, learning only at age 10 that the man who visited her at night and whom she saw on TV every day was her father. In 1993, Fernandez disguised herself as a Spanish tourist and fled first to Spain, then to the U.S., where she has been living in exile ever since. Fernandez is recognized worldwide as one of the most outspoken of Castro’s relatives.
The producers do not plan to do a biopic or a simple escape story but envision a multiplot story a la “Crash” that will illustrate the Cuban and American perspectives and ideologies along with Fernandez’s story. Her memoir will serve as inspiration.
Oh God, no. “Multiplot” stories are so early 2000’s and, we suspect, often serve as a way to distract from a really tired storyline or lackluster script. Plus, whatever happened to that other movie about Alina that was supposedly in the works? And will it star Andy Garcia as Alina? Please? And maybe Christopher Walken as Fidel Castro, because please?

Augh, thank you for that! What was up with everyone all wide-eyed, acting like that movie was somehow informative or revolutionary or whatever it was supposed to be? What did you learn from that movie that you didn’t already know by the third grade?
And what wasn’t ordinary about it ended up being traumatic - remember when Sandra Bullock argues with Brendan Fraser and she does that scream with the teeth and her face turns into the mouth of hell? Where did Lucy Kelson go?
But, oh, the most traumatic part was after Terrance and Thandie get pulled over and he is powerless to help and they get back home and you realize in your gut nothing can ever be good for them in their marriage again? Even after they try to reconcile?
That Moresco is good in making his audience feel a combination of bored and slimy and suicidally depressed… well, Godspeed Alina.

Obviously you liked Crash because you know all the character’s names. And for shit fest, your writing is like shit.
The bottom line, I doubt you have any Oscars under your belt, so you obviously wouldn’t know “shit” about writing.
Finally, if you feel suicidally depressed after watching a film, you already must feel shitty about yourself—so you ought to go get help.
