We never watch ESPN, like, ever. So it’s no surprise that we just saw this spot for the first time last night. It’s called “Bounce” and it’s aimed at the late night crowd at Burger King. It was shot in 2004 by director Ruben Fleischer for ad agency Crispin Porter Bogusky, but most importantly, it’s all about hydraulics! What Boards magazine calls a nod to “hip hop culture,” we know is really a nod to La Raza. (Cue the Kid Frost, ese.) After the jump, see the other ad in this campaign called, “Handoff” that features two pasty, White BK drive-thru employees trying to hand food to a bouncy lowrider customer. Chicanos are slippery!

it’s kinda ironic. especially since burger just signed a deal with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers to give their tomato pickers (who are predominately raza) a raise.

Funny, but I just saw this myself during David Beckham Spotting or futbol as others call it

@ denise: not surprising, companies want our $$ but they don’t want to give it back to us - BK isn’t alone there

It’s not too ironic, when you consider the history of the company(it’s headquarters are in Miami, so there’s a strong tendency to reach the broad latin demographic, as well as using the local and kinda of annoyin Grove based ad agency Crispin Porter)
