Daniel C. Snarr: David Archuleta's Mayor's Mustache Scared Everybody Last Night

What's up with David Archuleta's mayor's mustache, eh? Is he prospecting for gold out there in Utah? Last night when the producers of American Idol decided to show a clip from David's homecoming party in Murray, Utah, America was treated to a gander at the lip hair on Mayor Daniel C. Snarr. Personally, we love the whole motif, but it seems to have offended Ryan Seacrest's tender sensibilities.

"Randy, I think that could be a look - a look for you next season: with a mustache," Seacrest said, twirling the ends of an imaginary handlebar mustache. That comment spurred several blog posts, radio commentary and even talk around City Hall.

Frankly, we've always been more disturbed by White guys in Hawaiian shirts, but that's just us. The rest of the blogosphere keeps beating a dead horse. The one on the Mayor Snarr's lip:

It's not the first time the mayor's appearance raised comments from the "American Idol" crowd. Last month, a YouTube comment criticized Snarr for making Murray look like a "hick town."

But Mayor Snarr will have you know he's been featured in Esquire magazine, "a leading magazine in men's fashion." It's true! We looked it up. In an article on a convention of mayors, we learned that Mayor Snarr's political hero is the leader of the Mormon church and the best thing to do in Murray, Utah?

Costco. I brought the Costco to Murray. And it is the number-one place to hang out.
