David Archuleta Dancing In His Underwear Lost Him The American Idol Popular Vote

Watching American Idol for the first time last night allowed us to discover a side of America that we find more disturbing than a John Waters film. Like this Guitar Hero spot that features our little mormon boy dancing around in his underwear á la Tom Cruise in Risky Business. Of course, he’s wearing boxers not briefs. The ad agency had to show some restraint. Still, we think this could be what finally turned America’s stomach against the insufferable cuteness of our little lambchop.

I agree that little riblet is a cute kid but that commercial was awkward. However, David Cook’s Guitar Hero commercial was rather nice.
I wonder how long it will take Jeff Archuleta to start the Calzones Conspiracy theory?
I don’t know why the commercial is so awkward or people find it disturbing or disgusting or perverted. The truth is this “kid” is nearly 18, it’s not as though people are staring at a pre-pubescent boy in his underwear. God knows if it was some 17 year old chick out there everyone would be hootin and hollerin about how hot she is and how they’d like to be with her, but when it’s a dude it’s perverted and awkward. If that is the case then Cook’s commercial should be equally disturbing, at least it was to me because he’s not attractive in the least. Perhaps neither contestant should be wearing underwear on tv.
this was an homage to _Risky Business_ and the character was a high school kid so i just tell the haters STFU.
know what sunk that kid? HE HAS NO PERSONALITY. pretty voice + vacant stare = fucking creepy
What I find awkward is not the calzones or the Risky Business theme, it’s his movement. Or lack of it. He looks uncomfy somehow and moves awkwardly, IMO. I also don’t find David Cook very attractive but he just seemed more natural with that guitar rocker theme. Thus, the Calzones Conspiracy!!! :)

there is nothing more invigorating than reading comments left by individuals who’s only taste originates in their mouth. i’d challenge you to have an original thought but i suspect you’d all look to one another for confirmation first. for shame…

This commercial aired to the general public on the night of the RESULTS SHOW. People had already voted. This video didn’t turn anyone away - because it could not have!
