It’s rare we get serious around here, but Memorial Day, in addition to being a time to eat copious hot dogs and make beeramids on the beach, is most importantly a time to remember those who have died in military service to our country. Which is why we think it’s very cool that the people at non-profit organization Project Compassion are dedicated to painting every American military service member who has died during active duty since the September 11, 2001, attacks. At left is Aleina Ramirez-Gonzalez and after the jump, a few more of the thousands of Latinos who have died in service to this country.
