Robert Rodriguez Digs “Women In Chains!”

Director Robert Rodriguez is shopping around a new show called “Women in Chains!” which will star -the talented- actress Rose McGowan, the wonky-eyed adulteress who helped break up his marriage to the mother of his seventeen children:
McGowan is set play one of five chained women at the center of the show, which Rodriguez is expected to direct. The two first worked together on last year’s “Planet Terror,” Rodriguez’s homage to 1970s exploitation flicks.
The new show also is rumored to be fashioned with a 1970s exploitation sensibility, with such staples like mud wrestling.
There’s nothing like chained women, mud wrestling and exploitative faux-lesbian shenanigans to drum up viewership.
We loved Planet Terror, as well as Rodriguez’s contribution to Four Rooms, but unless this series has its tongue firmly planted its cheek even while probably tickling some scantily dressed vixen’s tonsils, we’re not sure we’re feeling it. Plus, you know. Rose McGowan has the acting skills and emotional range of a box of bricks, were that box of bricks dressed in hot pants.
