Dia De Los Muertos: Cyd Charisse Is Dead

Texas-born actress and dancer Cyd Charisse died yesterday of an apparent heart attack at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The iconic 86-year-old had a long career of dancing and acting in numerous MGM films - like this one, for instance. Enjoy Cyd’s performance alongside Gene Kelly in Singin’ in the Rain.

Cyd Charisse was one of a kind. It was almost like she dropped in from another planet . . . nobody else looked like her or danced like her. I’m so glad we have so much film footage of her to always remember.
