Dia De Los Muertos: George Carlin Is Dead At 71
23 June 2008, 9:00 AM. By Guanabee Staff
This isn’t funny. George Carlin died yesterday of heart failure. The man who created “Seven Words You Can Never Say On Television,” as well as a host of other things that have been making us snort out our milk since we were wee tots has passed away at the tender age of 71.
Jeff Abraham says Carlin went into St. John’s Health Center on Sunday afternoon, complaining of chest pain. Carlin died at 5:55 p.m. PDT, The Associated Press reported.
Carlin, who had a history of heart trouble, performed as recently as last weekend at the Orleans Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas.
An angry hippie who used his comedic genius to highlight the importance of the First Amendment and other things people should really fucking think about, Carlin was scheduled to receive the 2008 Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in November for his writing. After the jump, watch two different videos featuring Carlin’s take on fat Americans and the sanctity of life. RIP, Georgie.
