The Women’s Media Center put together a series of television clips on talking heads discussing women in power. The result is, frankly, terrifying in how unshocking it is. It’s both incredible and unremarkable how this, um… reporting? just blends seamlessly with the rest of the newscast, with people at home nodding along… minus the majority of American people who are too preoccupied twirling their pearls and baking a tres leches while menstruating poison.

So, tell us: What’s so frightening about powerful women? Will they be too tired or busy to have sex with their husbands? Is it emasculating to know your female co-worker can afford to take you to lunch? Or that your girlfriend can trump you in an intellectual discussion? Is White, male, heteronormative power really so shaky that allowing women equal opportunities will instantly send it crashing to the ground, in a ball of flame and strawberry-scented body glitter?

We certainly hope so.
