Enrique Iglesias Was Secretly Married To Anna Kournikova, Not-So-Secretly Divorced

Singer Enrique Iglesias has loved and lost and no one’s really cared either way. Now, for no reason whatsoever, he reveals he was once married to tennis star Anna Kournikova, but the two have since divorced. Again?:

“I was married a year ago to Anna and I don’t know what happened.”

“We’re not married anymore but we are kind of still in contact.”

Funny, since Anna ’s been pretty public about not wanting to marry His Moleness. Of course, this sounds mighty similar to a story that surfaced about a year ago, with Enrique “joking” about the couple being divorced:

“We’re divorced. I am single now, but that’s okay,” he told the newspaper. “I don’t mind being alone.”

But a Kournikova pal tells PEOPLE that Iglesias was only joking, and his rep adds that, after five years, “They are still together.”

So, are the two together? Married? Divorced? Secretly siblings? And why would this news come out now? Oh God, hold us. And, together, let’s remember Enrique and Anna as they were in happier times:
