Even T Magazine Fashion Bloggers Cash In On Rey Clarke's Incredible Climb

We’re not above exploiting our new pal Rey Clarke’s incredible 52-story climb up the side of the New York Times building, obvs. And we can tell you by the amount of reporters stalking us on Facebook since we publicly revealed that we have an inside track to him that neither is anyone else. But the New York Times magazine (now simply called T—barf?) fashion blog The Moment has, perhaps, the most incredulous angle on the story we’ve found so far. In a post entitled, “Copycat Climber/High Style” fashion blogger Jonathon S. Paul opines:

Yesterday, two men climbed the façade of The New York Times building hours apart. The second guy to summit our 52-story skyscraper, Renaldo Clarke, 32, chose to scale the west face, taking him right past my window. I know that he was acting like a reckless, attention-craving, copycat whack job, but let me say this: he looked great! His outfit was totally J.Crew with an urban edge, very Pharrell Williams.

That’s code for he’s Black! More outfit details after the jump. Along with the end of journalistic integrity.

Clarke wore a white fitted T-shirt (with blue sans serif type reading “Malaria No More”), black and yellow-neon La Sportiva Miura climbing shoes (seemingly sans socks) and baggy cotton chinos. I was especially fond of his pants selection: stonewash Nantucket reds that he’d rolled at the cuff (a nice touch). A braided leather belt — very on-trend — held the pants low on his waist. Too bad he had to go to jail; he was dressed perfectly for an après-l’escalade cocktail at the Rusty Knot.
