Miami-native and current Brooklynite (Huh! How ‘bout that.) Teresita Fernandez was honored by Louis Vuitton at a private dinner party in San Francisco. Teresitititita is an artist whose sculptural installations often use materials like glass and aluminum to create sleek works that look remarkably like things you will never be able to afford.
The dinner of caviar-encrusted, gold-flaked flambĂ©d armadillo filet (We guess? We have no idea what The Rich eat other than champagne and laxatives.) was attended by President and CEO of Louis Vuitton North America, Daniel Lalonde and commemorated the unveiling Teresita’s “Hothouse (Blue),” a glass work featuring thousands of tiny bubbly mirrors.
It’s nice to see Teresita making her mark on the fashion and art world, but we’d like to know:
How important are designer labels, like Louis Vuitton, to you? The dinner for Teresita was held at the Louis Vuitton Maison in San Francisco, meaning it carries every item currently featuring the LV logo. We realize that, for some, this is pretty exciting. But we don’t know how we feel about advertising how much we paid for something, even if we are paying for quality and style. But… maybe that’s just us?
Oh, and for more of Teresita’s work, be sure to check out her site.

Well… I myself like to indulge in a first course of baby tripas (bien doradas!) ‘cause they help with keeping down the main course of endangered zopilote frito. Of course, all washed down with holy water from the basilica carried back by my abuelita on her knees. ‘cause I likes to keep it real.
BUT Good for Teresita!
I wonder if they made her use the service entrance?
