This Sunday is the Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City, so in honor of that most prestigious event, today on Friday Flatchback we’re featuring Puerto Rico’s own super boy band Menudo. Because what Latina didn’t have their posters in her bedroom in the early to mid 80’s? We’re pretty sure Marco would have, too, were he alive then. (Awww, puppy.) Here’s a video from that era featuring young Johnny Lozano on lead vocals singing a real bootie shaker called, “Y Mi Banda Toca Rock,” and backed up by the best line-up Menudo ever had: Rene, Xavier, Ricky and Miguel.
