Friday Fresa Flashback: Christian Castro Brings The 90’s Crashing Back Into Our Memories Like An Embarrassing Hookup

The early 90’s may have been the best time in history for Mexican, pop trash. As witnessed by this little diddy entitled, “No Podras,” from 1992 that we wore out our very first DVD player on. It’s “sung” by Christian Castro, then spelled Cristian Castro, who is also known as The Happy Little Rooster (WTF???) and is the now estranged son of legendary Mexican actress Veronica Castro and some comedian. In recent years, Christian has gone the way of Luis Miguel. Batshit crazy, yes. But also, he started singing Mariachi standards. We can’t wear paint splattered, lime green dress shirts forever. (Sigh, if only.) There was also that weird suicide rumor last April Fool’s Day and most recently, his estranged second wife accuses him of being a wife beater. SO! Anyway. Happy times for the Little Rooster, huh? All the more reason to crank this one up, grab a Cuba Libre and belt it out with us, won’t you? “CADA MOMENTO!….”

is this a cover? or was this covered by another artist? I remember this song, but i don’t remember it being so slow and being sung by cristian castro. Was this ever a salsa song (omg!), or a song by anothr artist? I mean, my god, i actually know all the lyrics, i must have liked this as a child and then completey forgotten it until now. Memories! I definitely remember the “cada momento” bit…

El “Loco” Valdez Jr falls from grace, his pop’s wasn’t just some comedian, he was famous, rich, and silly enough to get into Vero’s panties.
