Happy Pride: Indulge In Some Creamy, Frozen, Spanish Balls…Of Ice Cream, Sucio

Our super fave, gay, Latino blog Blabbeando points us to a new gay ice cream that was launched today in Spain. Why is it gay, you ask? Well it’s rainbow colored, of course. Promoting unity and tolerance for all who want to indulge in sugar and delicious, animal fat from our Lord. The story translated from Spanish free paper 20 Minutos is after the jump:
Today, gays and lesbians from Barcelona have launched the first gay ice cream commemorating the celebration taking place next Saturday on Gay Pride Day.
According to Bodn, El Gelat Social i Artesa, the Badalona company that manufactured it, the idea for a gay ice cream came from diversity in business advocates Xarxagay of Barcelona. It’s an Italian style gelato, but is so light that “you can eat two or three balls and you won’t feel full!” Hear that, Chelsea Boys?
The article also states that Bodn, El Gelat Social i Artesa employs a 70% mentally challenged staff and that proceeds from sales of the treat will go to socially conscious causes. Those gays. Always with the helping. Our favorite part of this whole thing is that visual straight from 20 Minutos. Although the brand featured, “Golden Gaytime,” is a classic ice cream in New Zealand, we still love that they used it in a real newspaper, albeit a free one. Only in Europe.
