Mexican High School Musical Doesn’t Feature Hispanic Girl Playing White Girl

Mexican Disney (?) made a version of High School Musical because the appeal of adorably gay teen boys who dance and sing is universal. This version, it seems, will only be in theaters. Because most of Mexico can’t afford cable. Or Mexico doesn’t have cable. Or there’s no Mexican Disney Channel. Or all of the above. After the jump, the trailer for Argentine High School Musical which has a much cuter Zac Efron character. Okay, neither of them are that cute.

They’re also making a Middle Eastern one of these for Disney Taliban. But they had to bring in Quentin Tarentino to direct the big “We Will Cut Off Your Ears If You Sing and Your Feet If You Dance, Infidel!” musical number.
¡Futbol, futbol futbol!
Que Queso… how cheesy…
the indian version ends in an emotional but tastefully done self-immolation by the female lead after she sings a bubbly bollywood number with a boy from a lower caste.
of course Mexico has cable! and every one can afford it! but they preffer satelital tv like directTV if you know what that is!
