Nicole Richie Wants To Find The Next Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie, famous for being Paris Hilton’s former friend and for driving the wrong way down the highway while high, apparently thinks she’s special enough to be replaced by the next talentless, self-absorbed recovering junkie who wants a shot at notoriety. And guess what! Being totally original, Nicole wants to create a show to help her on her quest:

According to one exec who’s heard the pitch, the unscripted show would take seven girls from across the U.S. and test their ability to achieve insta-fame. Richie and a panel of judges would then whittle down the competition in preparation for the live finale, at which time the winner — drumroll, please…would be awarded her own reality show!

So, a question:

What makes a reality show different from a game show? Because that’s what this sounds like: A games how, with no actual basis in, you know. Reality. Does “unscripted” mean reality and not just “improvised” now? Because one actually has to be talented or funny to say funny things unprompted. Not just snort a line and fart on camera while maybe accidentally setting your hair extensions on fire.
