Spanish Prostitutes Put On Runway Show To Prove… We Forgot

Because nothing says “asset to the community” quite like an ass cheek peeking out of a pair of hotpants, a group of Spanish prostitutes with fabulous eyebrows put together a fashion show — outside a Church, naturally — to demonstrate… Uh, something. A spokesperson for the women said the runway show was an attempt to show that the women could “do anything” and broke down the stereotype of a prostitute as a “femme fatale.”

To which we say: Joder:

We’re not sure how wearing a leotard on a runway reveals anything about a person except, in the case of the first model, a series of worrisome bruises. Surely, the model’s beliefs, opinions and character were not on display. Or maybe we didn’t notice, distracted as we were by her cameltoe. And we’re not sure how presenting oneself as nothing more than a body, again, does anything to dispel the notion that prostitutes provide nothing more than a body to sell. So, because exploitation is not empowerment, we call bullshit. Bullthit!

What do you think, though? Does walking down a runway in Spandex prove women can do anything? Eh, we guess it worked for Wonder Woman.

It’s really hard to predict the outcome of a demonstration. I see where they were going in trying to get visibility in the community. Maybe it would have been more effective with information and/or a speech beforehand. Or maybe they did all of that and it was edited out of the report. I dunno.
