Straight Outta ¡Pachanga! DJ Manny En La Casa Para La Raza
4 June 2008, 4:30 PM. By Guanabee Staff
In part four of Cindy’s long, strange trip through Austin’s ¡Pachanga! Latino Music Festival, Cindy exposes us to Austin staple DJ Manny who freestyled for her atop his boombox bicycle backstage at the show. Cindy met him the night before at the ME-Television studios where he lectured her on the evils of capitalism after revealing he grew up a privileged child in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The next day he tried to convince everyone backstage at ¡Pachanga! Fest to invest in a yellow tattoo because Mercury is in retrograde. Maybe it’s cuz he hails from Puerto Rico where the monfongo goes to your brain. Or maybe he’s just a silly hipster. Either way, Cindy totally wanted to put him in her pocket and take him back to NYC with her so he could serve as Guanabee’s own staff guru, but unfortunately for us he’s pretty attached to Austin where he owns a DJ Dojo and is someone’s dad. Hipsters! After the jump, get a closer look at that crazy rickshaw bike with the custom-made, poly-carbon DJ sound system on it. Keep on keepin’ Austin weird, DJ Manny.

la Crema de DJ Manny got all over me during Pachanga, I still think it’s in my hiar and love it! Manny is Austin’s new Latino staple, forget Leslie, forget Stevie Ray, its DJ Manny como siempre!
