That Wasn’t The First Stupid Rap Lin-Manuel Miranda Has Performed
17 June 2008, 9:45 AM. By Guanabee Staff
“In The Heights” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony award acceptance speech rap, it turns out, is part of a long history of ridiculous freestyling. Like the one in this video we found of Lin announcing his show was about to launch Off Broadway just a mere year and a half ago. We have to hand it to him, he has moved up from “Freestyle Love Supreme” rather quickly.

You guys are such haters. In the Heights is the best musical I have ever seen on Broadway and I have seen quite a few. The music and characters are charming and lively. You would feel the same way, if you took a break from hating to actually support your fellow Latinos…just my two cents.
@La Optimista: I never hated on “In The Heights.” (Although most modern musical theater is corny, so chances are I will hate it. Don’t even get me started on “Spring Awakening.” I wanted to stab someone in the eye.) I am only cringing at his rapping.
@LaOptimista: Yes, please, let’s be uncritical of all things latino-related and accept everything without question. And while you’re at it, why not adopt a defeatist victim mentality that takes every single comment negatively and reacts with passive aggressive, anonymous online comments. Because, you know, Guanabee’s satiric comments about Lin-Manuel Miranda’s rap skills are going to make his Tony awards and box office success go away…
Dang, y’all be hatin’ hard on a bro…
@LaOptimista.. wow, maybe i’m reading this wrong but were in this post is Guanabee hating on the musical? Hello! they are doggin on Lin’s rapping.
