Che El Argentino Bootleg Trailer Leaked To The Internet. The Internet Swoons.
The leaked trailer for Che El Argentino just landed in our inbox. You’ve never known how badly you want to hump Benicio Del Toro until you hear him speak Argentinean. (Provided you’re not actually Argentinean.) Could the leak have come from director Steven Soderbergh’s people as a way to drum up fan support for a distribution deal? It seems Soderbergh is having trouble securing one, what with his rather ambitious plan of releasing the four-hour epic in limited release only and then dividing it into two parts for wide release. The first part, The Argentine, in January and the second, Guerilla, in February. Craaaazy! Not to mention the fact that the entire movie is in Spanish and, well, didn’t get the ravest reviews at Cannes. Well, have no fear Hollywood. We for one will gladly let our asses get numb for Benicio Del Toro smoking Cubans and running around the jungle. In fact we shall start now. Rewind.

I am Argentinean, and both are correct: Argentinean and Argentine.
His Argentine accent was indeed pretty awful; but I would have to listen further because the clip did not show him speaking a lot. There were other people speaking as well, all of whom had Spanish-Caribbean accents (as in Cuban Spanish).
Argentines speak Castillian Spanish beautifully. And here we also need to make a distinction: The people of Buenos Aires speak a bit different than the people from other provinces. They speak with an Italian tone, which makes it ever so sexy.
Since CHE (which by the way, in Argentine lingo is used to get the attention of someone you know — as you would say “HEY” in English; but it is also used as “YOU”, but only in familial surroundings as it is very informal. In any instance, since CHE (his nickname, since everyone in Argentina always has a nickname), GUEVARA was born in the province of Santa Fe, and not in Buenos Aires (the Capital), his accent would not have been very different from that of the people of Buenos Aires.

wtf? you think that due to the fact that you are from Buenos Aires you have Italian accent? Have you ever been in any other places? I’m from Rosario and ask to anybody..there’s no difference in our accents..it’s all the same crap. I’m proud of being argentinean..and my whole family is from Italy..even my dad. what? You’re gonna tell me that I don’t have an Italian accent? Of course I don’t.My Italian is awfull. But it doesn’t make any difference. I don’t tell anybody that i’m Italian when they ask me, cause i’m not. I’m argentinian and I speak with argentinean accent, wich is a mix from other different dialects. You know nothing about your own history.
