Often-strangley-dressed rocker, Alejandra Guzman, has a daughter named Friday Sofia. Who likes to be photographed making out with girls. ESCANDALO:
A Mexican magazine has come out with photos of Alejandra Guzmán’s daughter, Frida Sofía, passionately kissing one her New York City classmates, Katie Ross, in Mexico City during a recent vacation, in which Frida Sofía ended up in the hospital because of an alleged drug and alcohol overdose.
The publication refers to Ross as a “bad influence,” claiming that days before Frida, 16, was hospitalized, the two adolescents were seen drinking martinis in public and carrying a bottle of tequila.
Which has got us wondering:
Is the fact that Frida Sofia kissed a girl indicative of a more far-reaching problem with self-control? Because the way news reports have seemed to handle this story reflects the idea that Frida is a “bad girl” because, look!, she’s locking lips with another girl. While we’ve no doubt that an extremely lax attitude on sex and sexuality can sometimes be a red flag where teens are concerned, we think it’s sort of manipulative to present a photograph of a kiss as evidence that someone’s life has spiraled out of control. Had it been a kiss with a boy, would the response have been different? Would she still be looked at as a girl on the verge of some sort of breakdown? Because we’re pretty sure that a drug and alcohol overdose speaks more about self-harm than a same-sex kiss.
Then again, putting one’s sexuality on display or feigning bisexuality to garner attention might not exactly be the healthiest course of action, especially if you’re 16.

Having La Guzman as a mom can’t be healthy an influence tampoco.

Word MoNYC & UCan…: I’m surprised that all she did was kiss a girl. I don’t think she’s some mala hierba, though.
Wake me up when you find her with a couple of circus midgets, a donkey and a cut-out of El Chavo while being serenaded by a norteño band.
