LAMC: Alex*Cuba And His Lambchops Funk Up The Bowery Ballroom

This week Guanabee has been skulking around looking for long haired freaky people at the 9th annual Latin Alternative Music Conference in New York City otherwise known as LAMC. This young man, Alex*Cuba (who for some reason puts an asterisk between his names) from British Columbia by way of Artemisa, Cuba impressed us last night at his Bowery Ballroom showcase. Here he performs a song called, “Si, Pero No,” and we try to video while holding a beer. It’s fun, watch! More coverage from the festival to come as soon as Alex gathers her mind from yesterday’s press room hijinks and Cindy prepares to participate in an official LAMC panel this morning entitled BLOGUEANDO: How Latino-oriented and indie music blogs and bloggers are helping artists connect with new audiences and brands. Hopefully some other people in the music business will be awake to attend.
