Video: Leysi Suarez AKA Lacie Zamudio Suarez Apologizes For Barebacking The Peruvian Flag

This video kind of looks like a telenovela, but it’s actual footage of Peruvian cumbia singer/model Leysi Suarez getting her hand slapped by the Peruvian Minister of Defense Antero Flores-Araoz for posing naked on the nation’s flag. (The video opportunity was obviously staged for maximum effect.) The naked photos caused an uproar in the country earlier this week when they appeared in the premiere issue of a new magazine called D´Farándula (“Showbiz”). Suarez was facing up to four years in prison for the act, but in the video she gives a heartfelt apology saying, “My intention was not to offend the patriotic symbols, I love my Peru, we travel internationally, we take our music everywhere and the only thing I could contribute to the magazine was that of a model, that of an entertainment girl.”

Sigh. Latin America. For his part, Araoz says, “Well, I appreciate your apology I think its very brave of you, its important to respect our patriotic symbols not only placing the flag on a mast [Ed. And not on your ass.] but giving them the importance they deserve.” From the smiles all around, it looks like all is forgotten. But, just so you don’t forget, here are the naked pictures that started all the trouble.

I believe Leysi might have struck a deal with the Defense Minister.

I agree that there should be something between her exposed chocha and that poor horse. Because who knows what kind of nastiness is brewing in that “entertainment girl’s” chocha?

Perhaps using a flag was not the best idea… but it sure worked for that Platano con Salami guy.

That’s why I love America! Madonna basically did the same thing for Rock the Vote, and then life went on…

@Gwenny: But God forbid Janet Jackson flash us her nipple. Whereas we know Peru has no problem with that at all.
