Man In Spain Sets Girlfriend’s Vagina On Fire In Jealous Rage

A man in Alicante, Spain set his girlfriend on fire following an -heated- argument. The couple, who were squatting in an abandoned house and living in abject poverty, got into a huge fight, after which the man suggested he make amends by offering his girlfriend a massage. He doused her genitals in alcohol to “facilitate the massage” and then promptly set fire to her vagina and lower abdomen. The woman put out the flames, attempted to dress the wounds as best she could, then endured the burns for two days before she could no longer stand it and went to a local hospital.
Once there, she told doctors and authorities her story and her boyfriend was quickly found, apprehended and arrested. Turns out, super surprisingly, that he had a long rap sheet for theft, sexual assault and “crimes against public health.” And they say all the good ones are taken.
The article tries to play this as an act of machismo and it is, in a way - a man making his woman unfit for other men after he’s accused her of being unfaithful somehow. But we can’t help but think that someone with a long and varied history of violent crime, who is homeless and desperate and quite possibly mentally ill, is not so much looking out for himself as a man or as The Man, but is just totally, completely unstable, irrational and harmful to anyone - women, men, himself. There’s some harm in painting machistas as monstrous, violent men. Because, while that may certainly be the case in many instances, it downplays the fact that men hurt women in small, subtle ways on a daily basis. If it takes setting someone on fire to warrant cries of “Machista!”, then something like a comment made about a stranger’s legs or a furtive grope in an elevator or inequality in pay are not given the attention they deserve.
It shouldn’t take setting your girlfriend on fire or stoning a woman in public to bring attention to machismo.

A terrible combination of having a deep-seated disgust for women, especially when they make their own decisions about when and who whom to be intimate, combined with violent tendencies, combined with a society that says “boys will be boys” allow both the subtle and not-so-subtle to happen every every every day. dondequiera que sea.

If she the massage would have gotten her excited she might have put it out.
I think it was rightly painted as machismo. I mean, if he was just violent why go specifically for her crotch?
That said, thats no excuse to overlook the subtle actions either.

For once, the shoes on the other foot. And though no one deserves to be abused in any situation. Let me start by Laughing at this story. I am Laughing at the woman! Perhaps Women all over the World can see how it feels now when men read similar stories and read how women feel ‘enpowered’ or even at the costs of someone else’s suffering. It’s all a cycle, Women’s hatred of men breeds Men’s hatred of women. But in the end, it all comes back to the Mother and her rejection and hatred of her own son. That is where men’s rage comes from. But you dont have to believe me. Keep taking the advice of some woman psychologist. Boys will be Boys for sure. men act out the hurt that has been put onto them. The woman’s rejection was simply every woman’s rejection of boys/men. Everyday men hear it. “i dont need a man” Well, men dont need women either and they simply get to a point where they take what they want. It’s all primal and barbaric in the end.
