Miley Cyrus has issued an insincere sounding apology to fellow Disney Channel twatlets Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato that begins with the phrase, “I mean..” and incorrectly attributes Elvis with having coined the phrase “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.” Rednecks! They say the darndest things.
The apology comes after Cyrus and her gal pal, backup dancer Mandy Jiroux were caught mocking a video Gomez and Lovato published on YouTube earlier this year. As our readers so sweetly pointed out to us last week, the mock video was originally published 4 months ago, but only came to wide public attention last week when it was announced by the press that Gomez is now dating Cyrus’ ex, Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers. So, obvs, the only thing Miley is sorry about is that she got caught. If you aren’t convinced, her sassy words are below
“I mean if we offended (Gomez and Lovato), we’re super sorry, but we were, like, just having fun,” Cyrus said in an interview with Popstar! magazine.
That’s our thing, to be funny,” she said. “They were being funny on their show, and (besides) Elvis says imitation is the greatest form of flattery, so we were, like, imitating them. You know, like, being funny.”
Regular Richard Pryors, you girls are! * Snort! *
