NY Times Makes Hurricane Dolly Look Like A Bitch

It’s always weird to see your hometown in the New York Times especially when your hometown is a world away from the bustling city. But that’s what happened to Guanabee Editor Cindy Casares when the Times published a photo gallery documenting the aftermath of Hurricane Dolly in Brownsville, Texas and its surrounds. The worst damage was on South Padre Island, pictured at left where, amongst other things, a Radisson hotel sign was knocked to the ground by high winds. Fortunately for Cindy’s family, the levees held in Brownsville and major flooding was averted, though some folks had it worse than others. Photo proof after the jump.
