Penelope Cruz’s summer collection for Spanish retail chain Mango is out and it looks pretty gosh darn cute. We love the nautical theme it takes and think it looks pretty wearable. Or, uh. At least it appears wearable when worn by Penelope Cruz.

Take these high waisted white jeans, for instance. We’re fairly certain these would look horrible on about 99.2% of the female population but you’ve got to admit seeing Penelope in them looking all summery and nice makes you want a pair, huh? And that top. It has an anchor! And stripes! So we’re instantly on board (Oh!), but we have to remind ourselves that it won’t look quite the same on the more flat-chested among us. Plus at $29.00 for the top and $69.00 for the jeans, we’re not quite willing to play a game of fashion roulette.

We love the ruffled top, which has just the right balance of frill and structure, and adore the studded vest. Paired with an also studded belt, though, the outfit would come across as a little too costumey in real life. Shirt, $69.00. Vest, $59.00. Belt, $69.00. Jeans, $69.00.

The floral-print dress is cute, but it looks a little too “Forever21” to warrant the price tag. That yellow braided bracelet, though, is ours as soon as we go shopping this weekend. Dress, $89.00. Bracelet, $29.00.

We like high-waisted jeans, so sue us. These in particular have a very flattering fit, don’t go ludicrously high and have a nice, dark wash. The top’s retro look would make it look great paired with a high-waisted skirt for a slightly more formal occasion. Jeans, $69.00. Top, $29.00.

These casual shorts look great teamed up with a more formal-looking top (it’s hard to tell from this photo, but the shirt is high-necked and pleated at the front). We also love red and navy blue together. But although those shoes are hot, we don’t think we’d pair them with shorts. Ever. Top, $59.00. Shorts, $39.00. Heels, $109.00.
