TMZ, of all places, has a copy of the lawsuit filed by reporter Myriam Ayala against Univision on the basis of discrimination. Although, to be fair, TMZ probably wasn’t the first news outlet to stumble upon the suit. In the lawsuit, Ayala claims the network has repeatedly passed her over for choice assignments and an anchor position in favor of “lighter skinned” and “more conventionally pretty” reporters. Um, hello. That sexy, cockily arched eyebrow? If that’s not conventionally pretty, then we don’t know what is.
Ayala notes the she has twenty-five years of “unblemished” work history with Univision and is currently the oldest female journalist working at the network. She claims lighter-skinned male anchors and “pretty,” light-skinned female anchors have been given coveted evening time slots, while she has been left with having to deal with ugly, gross, fat people early-morning coverage.
Is she right? Is she paranoid? We don’t know! But we do know that “Como Se Dice, ‘Sour Grapes?” is probably one of the worst headlines TMZ could have come up with for this story. Good job.

Is that a recent pic of Myriam? She is not bad looking but I’m fairly certain Oprah had that haircut in 1996.
