First it was tomatoes, then it was jalapeños, now it’s serrano peppers the FDA says are linked to salmonella. Well, at least the irrigation water at one Mexican farm in Nuevo Leon was found to be contaminated with salmonella. Which is way more proof than anyone needed to ban tomatoes! One thing’s for sure, the government is trying to ruin our pico de gallo fun this summer. Fortunately for us, we don’t believe they have the slightest idea what they’re talking about so we never stopped eating fresh jalapeños in the first place. We mean, there’s only so far a person can go for their health. As long as we have those, we can forgo the serranos since you can almost never find them in New York, anyway. Also, if you can verify that your serranos are from Minnesota or whatever, the government says bon apetit.

Salmonella Coverage On Guanabee

Best case scenario: keep making your pico de gallo unfazed and enjoy your summer w/ some brisket, beans and rice and cold coronas. Worse case scenario: you get a horrible stomach illness and lose crazy amounts of weight in no time flat….leading to a better summer body. Lemonade my friends, lemonade. Bring on the salmonella!
