Watch “‘Llectuals” On The Peeb Because “Gossip Girls” Is For Plebes
17 July 2008, 6:15 PM. By Daniel Mauser
Imagine a world in which PBS has reached a critical low point in funding, forcing it to come up with a “fresh” and “provocative” new “edge” in order to draw in new viewers. That edginess would probably translate into a show like “‘Llectuals,” a “Gossip Girls”-type teen drama revolving around the loves and losses of a group of intelligent and sexy teenagers who read Foucault as foreplay. What will we be doing at 8 pm? Why, watching “The Peeb” with our home-confraters. Naturellement.

Plebes? Is La Cindy from Sinaloa? I’ve suspected it because in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico people have the habit of refering to people as “el” or “la” before their name. (”Plebes” is Sinaloan slang for kids btw.)
I didn’t know this was a joke at first. I smelled the immolation of civilization. It’s pretty funny, now that I got my breath back.
“I’m gonna be a crypto-zoologist, Dad! And you can’t stop me…”
this is so obvs. a joke and i didn’t write this post. and no i’m not from Sinaloa. Mexicans add articles in front of words.
@ La Cindy: meee-oww!
