If you’ve never seen the AMC series “Mad Men,” season two starts July 27 and today is your chance to get acquainted with all the major players during a marathon showing of season one that starts at noon Eastern. Especially fun to watch is lead ad man Don Draper played by Jon Hamm. (Yum!) But what’s most interesting about this show for us is its portrait of single working girls in New York City circa 1960.
To coin an overused cigarette tagline, the show really helps us appreciate just how long of a way we’ve come, (baby—ugh, sorry.) Our fave character, of course, is Peggy Olsen, played by Elizabeth Moss, the wide-eyed secretary turned copywriter who struggles between her desire to be loved by a man and her desire to be taken seriously by them as a professional. Not to mention dealing with her ballooning weight. Check it out now. It’s worth wasting a Sunday.

I wish I had read this earlier. I just got to see the last episode where Peggie delivers a baby.
I’m not familiar with the show so now I have to wikipedia who the father is.

Oh, that delicious show. I consumed nothing but that and baked Cheetos yesterday. The orange still won’t come off the remote.
