Wow..I never respond on these things, but I just had to this time… How in the world did a blog about someone’s relationship turn into a straight up “HATE” war… I can’t believe the things I’m reading.. And yes, I continued to read out of curiosity.. First of all, Mike and Yvette can care less about what WE think about their relationship, they chose to be together without consulting with US.. And here we are talking about their relationship as it relates to the COLOR of their SKIN…??? Come on people, let’s face it, we’re ALL human, we ALL live on this ONE planet called EARTH. We HAVE to live together if you guys haven’t figured it out BY NOW… What’s the big deal??! Let’s just all find a way to make it work and move on.. this is way too much negative energy, and no one benefits from it, NO ONE! So let it go already!! peace and love to all!

God Bless ya! A voice of reason. Does anyone remember watching last year’s Cuban Olympic Team? The vast, vast majority of them were of African ancestry. Yet, the vast majority of Cubans in the USA are of Castillian/Iberian ancestry, Hmmm why is that? Could it be of some sort of historical apartheid on that island? Yep! Sure looks like it. Give Castro at least this much credit, the brother hooked fellow brothers & sisters (the majority of the inhabitants) up. Communism sure ain’t perfect but it does have a few -just a few- merits.

It is true that many “white” Cubans have racist views. But it stems from ignorance of their heritage and ancestry. It also stems from the colonial eliticism and racism inflicted on the native tenao indians and african slaves brought to the island. Those colonist viewpoints are still prevalent among “white” cubans today. The ironic thing is that they embrace to the point of bragging about the food, music, dress, and curvy bodies that come from the african heritage. They also talk about the beauty of the island and its people but don’t realize that the island is made up of 85% cubans from african ancestry. I’m not offended by the racism because its their too ignorant to be mad at. I feel more sorry for them than anything. What’s strange is that closed ignorant mindset seems to be a much bigger issue with cubans than the other spanish colonized islands and many south american countries. Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic are much more understanding of their heritage and embrace there african ancestry. I wonder why? As for Yvette, she’s obviously not of pure spaniard ancestry. So is it really interracial or is it an intercultural relationship…?

Although basketball is what he is known for, his accomplishment far exceeds that. Jordan makes more money now from different investments than he did while playing ball.
