Judy Reyes, who played the one character on “Scrubs” who wasn’t consistently annoying, is starring in a made-for-TV movie that also seems made-to-make-you-cry-into-box-of-wine. In Little Girl Lost, which premieres August 17th, Reyes plays a mother who believes her infant daughter died in a fire. Sad! But… wait. Could there be foul play afoot? Oh, yes there could:
Despite the evidence, and based only on her intuition as a mother, Luz remains convinced that her daughter was kidnapped and that she’s still alive. Luz and her husband attempt to put the tragedy behind them for the sake of their other children, however, Luz continues to suspect her distant cousin of foul play and enlists the help of Angel Cruz, a sympathetic State Representative.
We’re no one’s mother (a fact where we supposed to be certain of yesterday, so omg), but we’re pretty sure a “mother’s intuition” doesn’t usually hold up to “physical evidence” in life outside of Lifetime made for TV movies. But! The movie claims to be “an amazing true story,” which means you’re going to have to shut up and suspend disbelief that mothers struggling with the death of a child wake up with full make-up and perfectly bouncy curls.
