Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, apparently two actors you probably have never heard of, have broken out of obscurity to sell the first photos of their newborn twins to People magazine for a little over 14.5 million dollars (7 million British pounds). The twins, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, made their pictorial debut as the highest-selling babies ever this past Sunday. The pictures are totally worth the money, because they demonstrate how the pair look remarkably like the bald, crinkled, misshapen poo bags most other, normal babies look like. Aw! The cover also features the couple’s only other biological child, The Aryan One, holding her new sister. These twins, by the way, bring this under-the-radar celebrity couple’s child count to six:
It is chaos, but we are managing it and having a wonderful time,” Jolie tells PEOPLE of daily life at the Château Miraval in Provence, France, where the couple’s four older children – Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2 – have been enjoying a summer of outdoor play (hide-and-seek is a favorite) on the château’s sprawling grounds.
Adds Pitt: “[It’s] still a cuckoo’s nest.”
Plus, they helpfully remind us that it’s never too early to cement gender roles:
“[Shiloh] and Z pick out [the twins’] clothes and help change and hold them,” says Jolie. “It’s sweet – they are little mommies.”
The boys just take turns stuffing the babies into toy race cars while crushing soda cans on their foreheads. It’s sweet. The pictorial will also span 17 pages in the upcoming issue of British magazine, Hello!, where the babies! will look! no different! than in People!. The Hello! pictures sold for a little under 4 million dollars, which will be donated to charity.
