It turns out Brazil, the country where nakedness is a national pastime, is so conservatively Catholic that a court is ordering the publishers of Playboy to halt further distribution of that country’s August issue after some trollop actress named Carol Castro posed topless in it holding a crucifix. Which means Jesus is topless in the photo, too. [Ed. Express to hell, all aboard!] The archdiocese of Sao Paulo described the image, which was shot for the 33rd anniversary issue, as having “a lack of respect for Catholics.” Castro, who considers herself a Catholic, defends the photograph saying she meant no harm to anyone. The shoot is meant as a tribute to the novel Dona Flor e Seus Dois Maridos (Doña Flor and Her Two Husbands) by Jorge Amado which is about a Brazilian woman who cheats on her second husband by sleeping with the ghost of her deceased first husband.
