I love the original because it had absolutely no men in it and was essentially a movie about adultery, gossip, and girl fights. Joan Crawford (before The Eyebrows) originated the homewrecker role and actually made it sympathetic. I wonder, though, why the two ladies of color got the roles of the two husband stealers (if they stuck to the original script anyway)? And I don't buy Meg Ryan in a Norma Shearer role. Her hair and lips annoy me (no sex jokes, Alex!). I love Eva Mendes, though, even if she is all TMI lately.
