This thing looks like a dog at first glance, but check the snout in that freeze frame. That is no dog, its the Chupacabra! What’s more, it looks remarkably like the thing that washed up on shore in Montauk, NY last month. Could this be end times? Or just the greatest viral campaign to ever hit America?

There’s video after the jump shot by a deputy-in-training from Dewitt County, Texas, home of Cuero, Texas aka home of the chupacabra! He says this creature is a chupacabra. And when a Dewitt County deputy-in-training speaks, we think you all know what that means. Sheck it:

Actually, I think it would be better known as “Cuero, Home of Mutant Coyotes And A Wicked Speed Trap”. I swear, it has to be the slowest freakin’ spot on 183 between I-10 and I-37 when going from Austin to Corpus Christi (or back). But they do sell cane sugar Dr. Pepper in 20 oz. plastic bottles at the convenience stores there (and in Gonzales, and at the Loves on I-10 in Luling), so they get extra credit on that.

Uh, if I know anything from growing up Mexican, that is a damn dog/wolf hybrid mutant thing. And don’t they look goat-y, hence Chupacabra? And with a little spine thingy going down its back?

I’m led to believe real ones look like so.

aww, that makes me sad. I _saw_ this last week on TV, and there was a DNA test done, and it’s a canine. no story here. move along. now that the montauk monster has been revealed to be a prop from some horror film w/ Rob Schneider, all our cryptids are gone. GONE.

That is an interesting creature. It is not quite a dog, and yet from the back resembles the dog family. This may be a new one for us, but I bet the scientists know more about this creature. As long it does not bite or hurt anyone that is good. Should you let it just run wild?

    puppydazzles wrote

Is it a wild animal? Should it not be shooed away from the public? I would hate to see it hurt or kill anyone. Having it in custody will give you the chance to study it further.

Sorry guys, being realistic. that is “not’ a warthog. I have hunted warthogs many times. That is NOT even close to being a warthog or a hybrid coyote or dog.

Its definitley a Old breed of Canine animal. It moves like a canine with its loping motion. Its amazing something like this can remain hidden for all these years. Dont’ know if its the Chupacabra or Not, but it sure is something that we have never seen before.

    Late!

I thought only steers and queers came from Texas….Looks like there may be more….If the damn rednecks and illegal immigrants would quit letting their dogs breed faster than they do (or AS fast as they do) you probably wouldn’t have as many mutated animals as you do. Just goes to show you though…..Chupacabra…..it’s what’s for dinner…..and could be the next white meat.

My grandmother used to tell us stories about cougars, jaguars and an animal they used to incorrectly call the onza back in the mountains of the state of Michoacan, Mexico. Of the few descriptions I remember she said it was higher on one end kind of like a hyena: i just dont know if she meant the front or back. She said it made a terrifing sound like howling but she said the sound was almost identical to that of a mule. The story goes she and her niece were walkinng home one evening in the mountains back then when their were few houses in her village and they heard the sound and started running it was cathcing up to them, they crossed a creek and when they were coming up the creek the onza was getting to the middle of the creek when it met another animal she said it was probably a cougar and they started fighthing meanwhile they kept running and got away. My dad heard that sound at night when he was walking close to a river (also in Michoacan Mexico) that started chasing him and he shot at that direction and it stoped following him.He had a 38 super.
