Girlfiend: Selena Gomez Ain’t Too Proud To Beg

Selena Gomez is a really good girlfriend, you guys. She made a video with her main gay, Some Dude In A V-Neck, trying to get people to buy her boyfriend’s band’s album. So go buy A Little Bit Longer, by The Jonas Brothers. An apt name, to be sure, seeing how if this video were a little bit longer, we’d have thrown ourselves out the nearest window, screaming and clutching various issues of Tiger Beat. In fact, this video has inspired us to come up with a brand new word:

Girlfiend: (n.) A girlfriend who is so caught up with being in a relationship that she begins to lose her own personality. Feminine of “boyfiend.”

What do you guys think? Is there a line between “being a good girlfriend” and inspiring people to cry “Ay, por Dios, get over that smirky curly-haired boy and focus on your own shit!” We’re not sure if it’s ever a good idea to establish an image that amounts to little more than “So-and-so’s girlfriend.”
