Twenty-seven year-old Mayra Rosales in Edingburgh, Texas (that’s in the Rio Grande Valley where all the crazy shit happens) was indicted last week on capital murder charges, stemming from the March 18 death of her 2-year-old nephew, Eliseo Gonzalez Jr. The story is that her sister, 20 year-old Jamie Rosales, left her in charge of Eliseo and his two younger siblings on the morning of March 18 and less than two hours later, Mayra called Jamie to say Eliseo was “stuck under her bed and his head was swollen,” according to the charging documents.

Eliseo was removed from life support and declared dead that afternoon. Mayra Rosales later told investigators that she slipped, landing with her right hand on Eliseo’s head while trying to pick him off the floor, and that he fell off a chair, according to documents.

But the cops are not buying it.

[A]n autopsy revealed that Eliseo’s injuries were “consistent with blunt force trauma” and that Mayra Rosales’ explanations were inconsistent with the injuries.

The autopsy found multiple skull fractures on the forehead and upper and lower rear parts of Eliseo’s skull. The autopsy also found fractures that were estimated to be about a month old.

Mayra’s lawyers plan to use the defense of her weight–which is nearly 1000 pounds–to prove that she physically couldn’t have beat Eliseo to death. Jamie, who signed a safety plan in April with Child Protective Services that advised her not to leave her children with her sister because of the woman’s disability, was also charged as a co-defendent in the case and could face life in prison. She remains in jail while the press is having a field day with the fact that Mayra can’t fit in a jail cell and will be allowed to remain at home as long as she wears a tracking device. McAllen, Texas newspaper The Moniter does add that much of her weight gain was caused by a rare thyroid condition.

FIRST AND FOREMOST: Why the fuck does Child Protective Services leave children with asshole loser parents?
Why is it so important to keep a child with the family no matter what kind of useful bunch of fucks they are?

Both women deserve life in prison and PLEASE have them sterilized along with the men who would impregnate these idiots.

The poor baby never had a chance.

    And about the elephant-sized woman…
PUH-LEEZE! You gonna tell me that she doesn’t eat six rotisserie chickens for breakfast, a pound of butter and sixteen tamales for breakfast?
Thyroid conditions don’t make you gain 850 pounds. They make you a little bit bloated and sleepy.

Well I guess when you weigh close to 1000 pounds the law does not consider you a flight risk–but do they make ankle bracelets that fit a cankle that size?
