Penelope Cruz’s Fall ‘08 Line For Mango: Yes
12 August 2008, 5:30 PM. By Daniel Mauser
We’d previously covered Penelope Cruz’s summer line for Mango stores and came to the conclusion that the clothes were beautiful, pricey and probably looked best on Penelope Cruz. Still, her line is the only one “designed” by a celebrity that we’ve actually liked at all. So, let’s check out her autumn line, shall we? Do let’s!
But first. For the love of Baby Jesus, Mango. The music on your site is maddening. Listening to it was like getting a Wet Willy administered over and over, on a loop. We’ve gone completely crazy. As in, we’re now humming it to ourselves while tearing out our eyebrows.
Anyway. On to the clothes:
Leather Trench
We like this trench! A nicely-tailored coat in a classic style is great staple for Fall. Also, for flashing people in Washington Square Park.
Wool Jacket
We like the way this woolen coat looks on Penelope, but think it would look too drab and shapeless on most people, especially since most of us don’t frolic through the streets with their coat collars jauntily raised. (Although we do, sometimes.) Also, we find that coats or jackets made of thick material, like wool, only look bulky when tied at the waist.
Dress, Cardigan
This dress and cardigan are each adorable, if a little matronly paired together. Check plus on each item individually though.
Plaid Top, Knit Sweater-Coat
This was our favorite look until we saw that the sweater hit mid-thigh. Do not like. Long sweaters make us think of being home, sick, and staining all our clothes with soup and mucous.
Tweed Jacket, Plaid Pants
Love the coat, like the pants. Are well aware that neither will look good on us, ever.

Does it get that cold in Spain? She should do a line for Target. For the one in Riverdale. Specifically.
