Please note this story has been updated.

Yesterday police retrieved the body of a guest at Lil’ Kim’s birthday party, stuffed into a utility closet on the roof of club Spotlight Live in New York city. The police identified the woman as Ingrid Rivera, a 24 year old British Airways ticket agent, and disclosed the probable cause of death as being blunt trauma to the back of the head — possibly a Champagne bottle was used. Rivera had been kicked out of the club after an argument with a bouncer for entering the boy’s bathroom, and a Lizbeth Estrada, a cousin of Rivera’s, spoke to the New York Times about what she’d heard from other guests at the party:

“The bouncer picked on her.” After getting thrown out, the cousin said, Ms. Rivera and a friend started to get in into a taxi to go Soel Club and Lounge in Long Island City, but then the two got out because her friend, whom she did not identify, “didn’t want to get into a taxi with three girls she did not know. Her friend was immediately admitted and went inside without seeing what happened to Ingrid,” Ms, Estrada said. “The last time Ingrid was seen she was talking to the bouncer.”

As the body was found inside the club, and because of the testimony from friends, club employees, particularly the bouncer who escorted Ms. Rivera out, are the primary suspects in the murder case, and they’re certainly not helped by the unflattering reports on their behavior from other witnesses, as reported by NY Daily News:

It wouldn’t surprise me if it was the bouncers,” said Josh Johnson, the VIP host at Spotlight. “A lot of the bouncers, if you give them a hard time, they get really tough and rowdy. They’re tough guys. You don’t want to mess with them. That’s actually a problem at the club.”

Even police were aware of the danger drunken patrons face. “The bouncers have a rep at this club for being really heavy-handed, roughing people up, even the women,” a police source said.

A spokeswoman for Lil’ Kim says the rapper did not know the woman.

Family of Rivera had been searching for her after noting her disappearance, plastering missing person signs with the picture of Ingrid and offering a reward.

The body of Ms. Rivera was rolled out of the club, which is located on Times Square, on Wednesday night and created a spectacle among gawking tourists and passerby’s.

Our heart goes out to the family of friends of Ms. Rivera.

Update (2:05pm): Just hours after the body of Queens woman Ingrid Rivera was found dead at club Spotlight Live, and after speculation that a bouncer was at fault for the death of Ingrid Rivera, it turns out that it was an employee at the club who killed the 24 year old Queens resident. Sayed Rahman worked as a barback at the Spotlight Live during Lil’ Kim’s party last Sunday, and told police he chose Rivera as a target because she seemed drunk when he saw her outside the club. Rahman said he convinced her to come to the roof of the club with him and then attacked her. NY Daily News suggests he may have been trying to rape or rob her.

If it was a bottle of champagne that was used lets hope it was a bottle of Cristal.
I hope her family makes it thru this alright. My prayers go out to them. I’m sure she is partying with Jesus right now.

Wow! Tragic! RIP mama!

Poor little chick. What is it with the rapper life style? And don’t even try to tell me it’s not more violent. Is it the music that incites this? It’s always
somehow about music. At clubs, outside clubs, at concerts, outside concerts, recording studios. I know, I’m ignorant. However, not as ignorant as Fredo. It was a pipe. That was a pretty tacky statement.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Ingrid’s family while they are mourning her loss. I also pray that justice is served following her tragic death.

I knew Ingrid personally and she had many wonderful qualities. She lit up a room with her smile and cared very much for the well-being of others. Ingrid wanted much out of life and it is truly a tragedy that someone so young and vibrant could perish under such horrific circumstances.

Ingrid was a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a confidante; she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

WHAT CAUSES MUCH LAUGHTER IS THE SENSELESS COMMENTS THAT COMEUP WHEN TRAGIC THINGS LIKE THESE OCCURR. THEN AGAIN SOME PPL LACK THE INTELLIGENCE TO COMPREHEND THAT THIS IS A DEVASTATING MOMENT THAT THE FAMILY IS GOING THROUGH. I DIDNT KNOW HER PERSONALLY, BUT WE DO HAVE THE SAME FRIENDS. SHE ALSO SHARED MANY CLUB MOMENTS WITH MY BROTHER WO IS HURT BY HER DEATH ASWELL. LETS BE MORE UNITED AND COMPASSIONATE WITH ONE ANOTHER.IN TIMES LIKE THESE THATS ALL WE NEED

rip ingrid mii cuz new yu..=[

How incredibly sad. I did no know her but it still hits me kind of personally. I am female and am about Ingrid’s age, 23. I have worked in clubs and been in clubs and have definaly dealt with my fair share of a-hole men that just can’t take no for an answer. Bouncers, who are supposed to protect you can be some of the worst offenders. It’s terrible that her life was cut short due to some punk. I can’t imagine what her mother must be going through right now.

RIP Ingrid. And young women, try to be safe. When you go out and party, club, or bar, try to stick with friends you trust, always watch your drink, and be very careful around people who just seem crazy. Trust your instincts!

….it reallly hurts ..it hurts me so bad that something like this could happen to someone so beautiful..
..I knew Ingrid personally for more than 10 yrs….her and her family I care deeply for.. and I feel so much pain knowing the horror they must feel…I miss her soo much…and I will never forget .InGrId..-China..
…I miss u soo much sweetheart…
I kno one day ill see you again..I remember goin to club play..and seeing u there doin it up…lol.
u already kno that’s wat we doo..
…I luv you Ingrid..
love always ..Chris…Box.muahhhzz.

I knew Ingrid personally and I’m very sad and shocked by what has happened to her. She was a sweet girl who always put a smile on your face when she was around. it’s very upsetting to me that something like this can happen in a club full of people and no one sees anything. I know it’s a club and people were drinking but what about the other employees why didn’t any of them see what was going on? if they supposedly caught her in the men’s bathroom why didn’t anyone see this guy sneaking her back in the club and up to the roof? This could’ve been prevented. Her life was taken for no reason and it’s not fair to her or anyone who knew her, cause we all have to live w/out her and mourn her loss.

I didnt know her,, i live in los angeles,,, but i feel for this woman and her family.,… i know she didnt deserve to go this way… it doesnt matter how drunk she was…. sending my love and condolences….

I like to send my condolences out to the family it saddens me that some men can be so dam aggressive “NO” means “NO”!!!! regardless if she was drunk or not it her body and she still was capable of saying NO. He is a coward and the p*ssy couldn’t stand to be rejected. Guess what I live in NY and the Jails here are NO joke trust me the homeboys will be waiting the CO’s will see to that he going to have to be put in PC lock up (Punk City) he going to be like fresh fish they way the inmates here think it could have been my cousin, sister, aunt or mother and rip a new ass hole out of him I hope he lifting weight don’t drop the soap ass hole.

woww..

R.i.P. Ingrid.

Bottom-line? Young ladies should CONDUCT themselves as such, as doing so GREATLY lessens opportunties for them to become victims. #1 This girl was publicly drunk. No-no. We live in an insane world and positioning oneself to be taken advantage of, in a nightclub no less!, is just plain stupidity. #2 What the -ell was she doing in the mens’ bathroom, anyway? Was the ladies’ too crowded, too long a line, WHAT?!? #3 Wasn’t she at the soiree with “a friend” or two? She arrived at a club “with friend” yet somehow was kicked out alone? Or was she accompanied by “a friend” who, upon gaining re-entry, left Ms. Rivera outside to fend for herself? #3 WHY on earth would she accept an invitation BACK into the club from the same jerk-Bouncer who had verbally and/or physically assailed, and then booted her?!? Was it because she was, um, lemme see, hmmmm….DRUNK?!? Ladies, that’s what you are supposed to conduct yourselves as, ladies PLEASE get a clue and recognize that the world is NOT a nice place. Nightclubs are NOT playgrounds. Men you do not know well should NOT be able to have access to you when you are inebriated, public place or not! This is a senseless happenstance on many fronts. One, because a monster killed someone’s ‘child.’ Two, because that so-called ‘child’ was a grown woman acting incredibly recklessly, destructively. And it cost her her life. Very , very sad. Very, very preventable.

RIP Ingrid. I knew ingrid for about a year. She
worked at British Airways. She always had a
smile on her face no matter what kind of day
she was having. She was very bubbly and
always very helpful to others. She was the
voice of her little brother who has Down Syndrome. She loved him so much and he was her world.
She was her mother’s rock. She helped her
mom tremendously. We will always remember
her and keep her in our hearts at British Airways!
LOVE YOU INGRID!!!

I had the pleasure of working with Ingrid at BA. She was a terrific young lady and I stress lady. Perhaps she had a little more drink that night, not unlike any of us, but to put the blame on her for not acting “lady like” is absurd. When is the male population going to get it? Stop brutalizing your sisters, daughters, mothers…no means no!

TO ALL OF YOU DIDNT KNOW INGRID ND HAD NOTHING NICE TO SAY KEEP UR COMMENTS TO URSELF BEACAUSE IT WAS NOT NEEEDED AT ALLLLLL …… IT WAS HURTFULL ND VERY RUDE ND IGNORANT AS WELL ! YOU DIDNT KNOW HER SO U CANT JUDGE .

TO : “DOESITREALLYMATTER”

ND YES IT DOES MATTER TO THOSE WHO LOVED HER ND IN MIND THAT ONE DAY YOU WILL HAVE TO SUFFER A GREAT LOST ND I HOPE THAT YOU ARE SHOWN THE SAME “RESPECT” THAT YOU SHOWED MY BELOVED INGRID ND HER FAMILY !!!!!!!!! JERK*

Ingrid this young lady was a doll she was a child at the time when i meet her. I really send my sympathy to her mother veronica. Ingrid always carried that smiles no matter what there was. In 1995 was the year when i first met her she was just a little girl. I am really hurt to hear what has happen i can’t beleive this story. I am stunt to see how her life has been taken away she did not deserve to die like this. her family must be going through alot all i could say is that some day we all would die but not like this . this punk should brought up to justice he knew what he was up to because he was the bar guy that night and if she was that drunk he over done it on her drinks, because it was all premeditated.

RIP Ingrid I miss you and that smile of yours. I will always remember you. I am so thankful that i had the opportunity to meet and get to know ingrid. What a wonderful and precious human being, Not only is it a personal loss to her friends and family but to all humanity. My sincere condolences to Ingrid family and friends…..John P BA

Ingrid, You always had that brilliant smile that brightened up a room. It was wonderful to work with you on the rare occasions that you were assigned to my team. I will especially treasure the few conversations that we had. Your presence made BA at JFK a better, happier place. Your permanent absence has and will continue to leave us with a very big and sad void. I am glad that I knew you.

Very Unfortunate that this happened. Condelences to her family.

P.S. Though this happened at a Lil Kim Party, why is the media twisting it as if to say it happened because it was a lil kim party. The murderer worked there, could’ve happened to any girl any night. So why do they always try so hard to pin everything to rap? As if that is the main concern of this murder

R.I.P MY SWEET INGRID.

may you fly as high and as far away from this awful place.

How can some people write some of the things they did..
a young girl was beaten to death!! can u just imagine the fear she faced during that attack.. the pain.. the tears.. the thoughts she had, wondering if she would be saved by someone? whose to say she wasny trying to hold on to life but because she couldnt get out of that closet she bled to death?

think bout her last moments of life.. think bout that.. forget what happened b4 then.. just think bout her…

NO ONE SHOULD DIE THAT WAY…. NO MATTER WHAT!!!

i’ll miss you an dur beautiful smile!
I SAW UR MISSING POSTER THE OTHER DAY AND I TOOK IT DOWN.. :(
