Barack Obama Hates Pigs, Lipstick, Girl Scouts
12 September 2008, 2:30 PM. By Daniel Mauser
Picture it: You’re a wee little girl, who dreams of someday having a pony, and who has a fondness for helping fragile old ladies cross the street and selling delicious mint-chocolate cookies lined with pure cocaine. Your wish? To shamelessly demand tacky little bits of political propaganda so that you may perchance receive your very own “Ms. President” Girl Scouts badge. Because girls can do anything! Now picture your dreams and aspirations and audacious hopes obliterated to smithereens under the gigantic, bacon-hating foot of Barack “Hussein in the Membrane” Obama. Troop leader Michelle Walsh found out the hard way how much Barack Obama hates little girls:
The troop leader said she called Obama’s Chicago campaign headquarters and explained why she needed the curios. Walsh said she was directed to Obama’s Web site—where she could buy all the buttons and posters she wanted.
On the Web, a packet of 50 stickers that say “Obama ‘08″ goes for $5; a yard sign is $8. “Got Hope?” bumper stickers are $3 each, or two for $5.
We don’t have enough hope to pay $3 for a bumper sticker to put on our gas-guzzling pickups during a recession.
She said she asked Obama’s campaign worker again if she could get a few items for free. She pointed out that McCain’s camp had agreed to send a box and, well, her 12-member Scout troop runs on a very small budget.
Walsh said the woman at Obama’s headquarters put her on hold. After a few minutes, she returned with the same answer. The woman told her that she sympathized, but the Obama campaign needs every penny it can get, Walsh said.
Typical Obama. Hoarding all the change for himself. The story has a happy ending, with the Obama camp finally, begrudgingly, handing over a box of stupid “Hope” pins and packing peanuts with smiley faces painted onto them to a gaggle of sobbing little girls.

It’s payback for those racistly titled Samoas.
Pinche negro, es puto!
@La Llorona: Mmmm but those are the best ones aren’t they?
Wow… and there you go… why guanabee is the next site of Gawker that will be discarded. After sporadic unrelated posts, no targeted audience and racially charged comments, guanabee died in the hands of lazy editors, inconsistent writers and bored audience. I never found the pop, gossip and lifestyle coverage for the latina in me.
@ Ex-Guanabee: I hear you, believe me, and think your comment is valid.
However.
This is my place of work; this is my job. And when someone comes to my place of work and calls me lazy and inconsistent, it does not put me in a particularly generous or helpful mood. You do realize, I’m sure, that there are dozens and dozens of posts on famous Latinos, music, food, politics, culture, gender and race currently on this site. Instead of leaving a negative comment, why not leave a positive one on a post that actually managed to speak to you in an effort to help us know where we’re doing ok?
In a way, the people who write/edit this site are in a service industry. Like, say, someone working in retail. If you go into a store, berate the shopkeeper, and storm out, their reaction is not going to be “Aw, I’m sad!,” but something more along the lines of “Well I’m pretty relieved that jerk isn’t going to be shopping here anymore.” Offering advice on how to do better or giving credit where it’s due is a much, much more effective means of ensuring you leave a satisfied customer.
@Ex-Guanabee
First of all you must know we are not part of the Gawker network. And if you have been coming here for a while it must be for a reason. If you would like to see more of something then provide some constructive feedback instead of recurring to insults. If you have time to ruin other people’s fun I can just imagine what your life is like. Sad!
I for one think you guys are doing a great job. However, you look panicky when you respond to a numbnuts like “Ex-Guanabee.” It is a sign of your success that you have your share of player haters. I’m from Chicago, and even in his heyday Michael Jordan had some detractors. Keep up the good work! You guys are hilarious - don’t hold back.
@ daniel and alex:
I think the writer of that post laid out her grievances pretty cleary. She said :” After sporadic unrelated posts, no targeted audience and racially charged comments…” You might wana read the tone of this post and then when you read this comment: “Pinche negro, es puto,” it makes you question the politics of the staff of this website. Also the fact that you don’t say anything about racist comments like that doesn’t sit well with me. I think it is necessary to make it understood that your silent tolerance is not also silent agreement.
