First Jessica Alba, and now Christina Aguilera have loaned their foxy good looks to the Declare Yourself campaign because they just luuuurve America SO MUCH. They also love violent bondage, according to these PSAs. Shot by famed trendy photog David LaChapelle, Christina’s ad shows her face and hair in its usual state of product-induced calcification, but also she’s weeping and her mouth is sewn shut.

It’s weird ’cause she seems to be channeling Marilyn Monroe even harder than she usually does, what with the playfully poofed bob… so is this ad trying to remind us of a time when women could only succeed in the public eye as sex objects? Like how Marilyn’s opinions could never be taken seriously so we modern women should be grateful for the opportunity to make our voices heard? Or are we reading waayy waaayy too much into this picture….?
